INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM TO AID CALIFORNIA CORRECTIONAL AGENCIES IN CASE PROCESSING AND THE MANAGEMENT FUNCTION.
Abstract
THE GENERAL SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ARE OUTLINED. THESE COVER FUNCTIONAL AREAS SUCH AS INPUT, PROCESSING, AND SECURITY, PERFORMANCE AREAS SUCH AS STORAGE AND COMMUNICATION, AND THE AREA OF PERSONNEL TRAINING FOR USING THE SYSTEM. THE INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CASE EVENTS ARE DETAILED. EACH EVENT DISCUSSION HAS THREE PARTS - THE EVENT TITLE, THE TRIGGER OR OCCURRENCE THAT CAUSES THE EVENT TO TAKE PLACE, AND REQUIRED INFORMATION. MANAGEMENT INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS ARE ORDERED BY SUB-FUNCTION - PLANNING, OPERATIONS, ACHIEVEMENT ASSESSMENT, AND EFFECTIVENESS EVALUATION WITHIN EACH OF FOUR MANAGEMENT LEVELS. A SPECIAL RESEARCH SUB-FUNCTION IS DISCUSSED UNDER THE STAFF LEVEL ONLY. FOR OTHER VOLUMES ON THIS SYSTEM DESIGN AND INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS, SEE NCJ-009003, NCJ-009002, AND NCJ-009001.
