The data covered carjackings reported by State, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies to the New Jersey State police, Uniform Crime Reporting Unit. The report outlined the extent, type, and geographic location of carjacking activity. The data revealed that 7 of the 427 carjacking offenses reported to the police were unfounded, leaving a total of 420 carjackings involving 473 victims, including passengers.
