Abstract
CORRECTIONAL CHANGES IN POPULATION, TYPES OF SERVICES, OFFENDER-STAFF RELATIONSHIPS, PROGRAM PARTICIPATION INCENTIVES, AND THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS ARE DISCUSSED. CHANGES IN ATTRIBUTES OF THOSE COMMITTED TO CORRECTIONS, GROWTH OF INFORMAL COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS, EX-OFFENDERS USED AS CORRECTIONAL STAFF, AND DEFERRAL OF DECISION AND GRADUATION OF RELEASE ARE ALSO INCLUDED.
