Abstract
AN EXAMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN SOCIAL BACKGROUND AND PERSONAL HISTORY CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUTHS ENTERING THE TREATMENT CENTERS OF THE STATE DIVISION FOR YOUTH (DFY) AND THE ARREST HISTORIES OF THESE YOUTHS UP TO TWO YEARS AFTER THEY HAD BEEN DISCHARGED FROM THE CENTERS. IT IS HOPED THESE DATA WOULD ASSIST BOTH IN DECISIONS REGARDING APPROPRIATE TREATMENT FOR YOUTHS AND IN THE DESIGN OF RESEARCH STUDIES INTENDED TO ASSESS TREATMENT EFFECTIVENESS.
