THE FOLLOWING SELECTED ITEMS ARE INCLUDED - REASON FOR COMMITMENT, COUNTY OF COMMITMENT, RACE OR NATIONALITY, MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM SENTENCE, DRUG USAGE, EDUCATION, PRIOR ADULT CRIMINAL RECORD, AND PRESENT AGE. IN ADDITION, SUMMARY FIGURES ARE SHOWN FOR ALL INSTITUTIONS COMBINED AND FOR BOTH SEXES ALONG WITH PERCENT DISTRIBUTION. SUMMARY TOTALS ARE ALSO PROVIDED FOR THE FOUR BASIC TYPES OF CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS - MAXIMUM SECURITY, MEDIUM SECURITY, MINIMUM SECURITY, AND INSTITUTIONS FOR THE MENTALLY HANDICAPPED.
