PART OF A SERIES OF REPORTS ON THE NEW YORK STATE INMATE POPULATION, THIS DOCUMENT COVERS CHARACTERISTICS OF PERSONS ADMITTED TO INSTITUTIONS ON COURT COMMITMENTS, TRANSFERS, AND AFFIRMATIONS OF SENTENCE FROM 1969-1973.
Abstract
THESE CHARACTERISTICS INCLUDE: REASON FOR COMMITMENT, COUNTY OF COMMITMENT, PRIOR ADULT CRIMINAL RECORD, MAXIMUM SENTENCE, MINIMUM SENTENCE, TYPE OF INSTITUTION, ETHNIC GROUP, AGE, DANGEROUS DRUG STATUS, EDUCATION AND OCCUPATION ON COMMITMENT. FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1973, THE ABOVE DATA ARE SHOWN WITH AN AGE DISTRIBUTION. IN ADDITION, ETHNIC BREAKDOWNS ARE PROVIDED FOR OCCUPATION AND EDUCATION.
