STUDY OF HOW THE CALIFORNIA CHILD ABUSE REPORTING LAW AND RELATED CRIMINAL, JUVENILE, AND WELFARE STATUTES OPERATE TOGETHER IN PRACTICE TO FORM A SYSTEM FOR IDENTIFYING, REPORTING, AND PROCESSING SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE CASES.
Abstract
PORTIONS OF THE PRESENT SYSTEM THAT DO NOT APPEAR TO BE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY ARE ISOLATED AND EXAMINED. STATUTORY CHANGES BASE ON AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH ARE RECOMMENDED. FINDINGS ARE BASED ON FIELD STUDIES AND INTERVIEWS CONDUCTED BY THE AUTHORS IN LOS ANGELES AND YOLO COUNTIES.
