INTENDED TO SERVE AS A RESOURCE FOR PARTICIPANTS IN CITIZEN DISPUTE SETTLEMENT (CDS) WORKSHOPS, THIS HANDBOOK PROVIDES SUCH MATERIALS AS AN EXPLANATION OF THE CDS CONCEPT AND DOCUMENTS TO AID IN PROGRAM REPLICATION.
Abstract
A COLLECTION OF WORKSHOP MATERIALS, INCLUDING AN AGENDA OF TOPICS, A PARTICIPANT VOUCHER FORM, AND A WORKSHOP EVALUATION FORM IS FIRST PROVIDED. MATERIALS WHICH INTRODUCE THE CDS CONCEPT AND ISOLATE SPECIFIC IMPACTS OF PROGRAM REPLICATION ARE ALSO PRESENTED. SIMILARLY, DOCUMENTS USED DURING THE CDS WORKSHOP WHICH EXPLORE ISSUES OF PROGRAM REPLICATION ARE INCLUDED. THESE INCLUDE A LIST OF STEPS INVOLVED IN PROCESSING A CDS CLIENT THROUGH THE PROGRAM, A PLANNING EXERCISE ON IDENTIFYING CRIMINAL JUSTICE NEEDS, A SCREENING AND CASE TYPE EXERCISE, AND A COST FEASIBILITY AND COST COMPARISON EXERCISE. ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHIES ON INTERPERSONAL DISPUTE SETTLEMENT AND DIVERSION FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM ARE FURNISHED. FINALLY, A DIRECTOR'S SUPPLEMENT WHICH FOCUSES IN GREATER DETAIL ON REPLICATION ISSUES IS SUPPLIED.
