THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF OFFICIAL HUMAN RIGHTS AGENCIES (IAOHRA) IS AN ORGANIZATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND LOCAL ANTIDISCRIMINATION AGENCIES IN THE UNITED STATES, ITS TERRITORIES, AND CANADA.
Abstract
IT IS A PRIVATE, NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, LARGELY FUNDED BY THE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION (EEOC) AND LEAA TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO STATE AND LOCAL ANTIDISCRIMINATION AGENCIES AND STATE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING AGENCIES IN CIVIL RIGHTS COMPLIANCE, LAW, STRATEGY AND TECHNIQUES. THE NATIONAL OFFICE PROFESSIONAL STAFF PROVIDES EXPERT ADVICE, SEMINARS, AND RESEARCH AND EVALUATION SERVICES IN THE AREAS OF MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES, RACE RELATIONS, SUPERVISOR/ SUBORDINATE RELATIONS CRISIS INTERVENTION, AND HUMAN RELATIONS. ALL OF THE RATIONALE, TECHNICAL ANALYSES AND PLANNING, ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT, AND TECHNICAL WORK THAT UNDERLINE THE FORMULATION OF THE PROGRAM ARE SET FORTH IN DIAGRAMS, NARRATIONS, AND ILLUSTRATIONS. THIS REPORT CONSIDERS THE OBJECTIVES OF THE LEAA/IAOHRA PROJECT, COURSE CONTENT AND METHODOLOGY, MATERIALS DEVELOPED UNDER THE CONTRACT, REPORTS TO LEAA, EVALUATION METHODS AND CRITERIA, AND RECOMMENDATIONS. THE EXTENSIVE APPENDIX CONTAINS REGISTRATION LISTS FOR THE TRAINING WORKSHOPS, A COMPILATION OF WORKSHOP EVALUATIONS, PRINTED HAND-OUTS UTILIZED DURING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SESSIONS, AND THE CIVIL RIGHTS COMPLIANCE TRAINING MANUAL DEVELOPED BY IAOHRA.
