Abstract
Data on the population of adult corrections institutions, prerelease, and work release address average daily population and rated capacity by month, female average daily population and rated capacity by month, and average daily population per month by type of facility. Data on the characteristics of inmates encompass location by race and Hispanic origin, military service, offense by location, location of violent-crime convictions, location by age, location by sentencing authority, location by race and Hispanic origin for female inmates, location by county of conviction, and offense by race and Hispanic origin. Data on admission to prison compare admissions and release by month and address admission by month, type of admissions, and sex; type of admission and county of conviction; age at admission, race, Hispanic origin, and sex; county of conviction, race, and Hispanic origin; type of admissions and sentencing authority; and offense and type of admissions. Data on releases are presented by month, type of release, and sex; type of release, race, and Hispanic origin; length of stay or releases by category of admissions; and length of stay of releases by offense for total population, for court admissions, for revocations, for the Work Ethic Program (WEP) graduates, and for Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative (DOSA) offenders. The custody distribution of inmates within institutions, prerelease, and work release cover current custody classification by location, by most recent override reason, by most recent placement reason for nonstandard minimum assignments, by population assignment and sex, by sex and score, and by override reason and score.
