Abstract
DURING THE LATTER HALF OF 1974, THE OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL OF LEAA CONDUCTED A SURVEY OF STATE LAWS DEALING WITH THE PRIVACY AND SECURITY OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION. DATA WERE GATHERED BY TWO METHODS: A LIBRARY SEARCH OF STATE STATUTES: AND WRITTEN INQUIRIES TO STATE ATTORNEYS GENERAL. A 100 PERCENT RESPONSE TO ALL INQUIRIES WAS RECEIVED. THIS DOCUMENT CONTAINS SUMMARY CHARTS OF THE STATE LAWS, THE TEXTS OF THE STATE LAWS, AND ANY AVAILABLE INFORMATION ON STATE ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS CONCERNING CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SECURITY.
