Abstract
TERRORISM IS DEFINED AS SYSTEMATIC VIOLENCE INTENDED TO FRIGHTEN AS A MEANS OF EITHER SEIZING OR COERCING POLITICAL AUTHORITY TO USE ITS POWER FOR PURPOSES OF EXPLOITATION OR REPRESSION OR TO REALIZE SPECIFIC POLITICAL INTERESTS. THIS DEFINITION IS USED TO DISTINGUISH THE POSITIONS FROM WHICH TERRORISTS ACT AND INCLUDES TERRORISM BY THE STATE AS WELL AS BY WHAT THE AUTHOR CALLS QUASI-REVOLUTIONARY, REACTIONARY, AND COMPROMISED TERRORISM. THE LATTER OF THESE REFERS TO TERRORISTIC ACTIVITY AIMED AT GAINING THE RELEASE OF AN IMPRISONED TERRORIST. --IN SERBO CROATIAN...EB
