PROGRAM DEVELOPED TO ATTEMPT TO STANDARDIZE STAFF TRAINING IN ALL CORRECTIONAL AGENCIES IN PENNSYLVANIA.
Abstract
LABORATORY MODEL WORKSHOPS USED IN DEVELOPING THE PLAN FOR STAFF TRAINING ARE DESCRIBED. THE PLAN ITSELF INCLUDES THE GENERATION OF CURRICULA MATERIALS CONCENTRATING ON HUMAN DEVELOPMENT DYNAMICS, INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS, AND COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS, CONDUCTING PILOT INSTITUTES FOR CORRECTIONAL PERSONNEL, EVALUATING AND MODIFYING TRAINING MATERIALS AT THE PILOT INSTITUTES, ENCOURAGING CONTINUING INTERACTION BETWEEN PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY'S CENTER FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CORRECTIONS AND CORRECTIONAL AGENCIES, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING PACKAGES FOR EXPANDING THE STAFF TRAINING PROGRAM TO PENN STATE COMMONWEALTH CAMPUSES.
