Abstract
THIS BOOKLET CONTAINS THE TESTIMONIES OF VARIOUS OFFICIALS AND EXPERTS IN THE CORRECTIONAL FIELD, AS WELL AS LETTERS AND STATEMENTS FROM PRISONERS IN THE CALIFORNIA CORRECTIONAL SYSTEM. THE APPENDIX INCLUDES SUCH ITEMS AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE PENAL CODE PROPOSED BY THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE, A REPORT DONE BY THE CALIFORNIA STATE EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION AND A COPY OF THE UNITED PRISONERS UNION BILL OF RIGHTS.
