Abstract
THE COMMENTS COVER THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS OF CRIME PREVENTION-THE POLICE ROLE, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE POLICE AND THE SECURITY INDUSTRY, AND THE RESPONSE OF POLICE AND ALARM COMPANIES TO THE PROBLEMS OF BURGLAR ALARMS WHERE THEY ARE INSTALLED IN HIGH DENSITY. ALSO CONSIDERED ARE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SECURITY INDUSTRY AND THE RANGE OF ITS PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, MANAGEMENT RESPONSE TO SECURITY IN COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY, AND INSURANCE ORGANIZATIONS' RESPONSE TO SECURITY.
