This manual provides step-by-step instructions for use by medicolegal investigators and law enforcement personnel in conducting an investigation of a location at which a death has occurred and in examining the victim's body.
Abstract
An overview provides information applicable to all types of investigations. Further chapters explain the investigation of accidents, deaths of people in specific age groups from babies to elderly persons, alcohol-related problems, deaths from fire, drug-related deaths, deaths of females from spouse abuse or sexual assault, and homicides. They also discuss the investigation of deaths related to health problems, natural deaths, poisonings, deaths related to sexual practices, suicides, terrorist-related deaths, deaths from civil unrest, and deaths arising from gang problems. Types of trauma leading to death are also discussed. Diagrams, checklists, chapter references, glossary, and index.
