THE PURPOSE OF THE FINNISH STATISTICS ON CRIMINAL CASES TRIED BY THE COURTS IS TO GIVE INFORMATION ON THE CRIME LEVEL AND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE CONVICTED AND TO SUPPLY INFORMATION ON SENTENCING ACTIVITY BY THE COURTS.
Abstract
THE PUBLICATION CONTAINS INFORMATION ON CRIMINAL CASES TRIED BY COURTS OF FIRST IMPRESSION, INCLUDING MILITARY COURTS AND COURTS OF APPEAL ACTING AS COURTS OF FIRST IMPRESSION. IN FINLAND, THE GENERAL COURTS OF FIRST IMPRESSION ARE THE MUNICIPAL COURTS AND THE RURAL DISTRICT COURTS.
