Sensitivity analysis refers to determining what it would take so that a second-best alternative, combination, allocation, decision rule, or other conclusion would become the best conclusion.
Abstract
Examples relate to conclusions as to whether to go to trial or settle for a plea bargain, whether to adopt or reject a proposed legal policy, whether to consider a hypothesis to be confirmed about differences or similarities, and how much a prediction concerning sentence length is likely to change as a result of changes in the characteristics of the defendant or the case. 5 tables.
