Abstract
IN 1977, A TOTAL OF $8,166,000 IN FUNDS FROM VARIOUS SOURCES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS. THIS REFLECTS A 16 PERCENT REDUCTION IN FEDERAL FUNDS AVAILABLE UNDER THE CRIME CONTROL ACT IN 1976 AND A 1977 REDUCTION OF 14 PERCENT. GUIDELINES USED TO DECIDE WHICH PROGRAMS TO CONTINUE FUNDING AND HOW TO DISTRIBUTE THE REDUCTIONS FAIRLY ARE GIVEN. THIS DOCUMENT SHOWS $644,000 IN STATE FUNDS AND $430,000 IN LOCAL FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS; $755,000 IN STATE AND $259,000 IN LOCAL FUNDS FOR COURT IMPROVEMENTS; $52,000 IN STATE AND $1,016,000 IN LOCAL FUNDS FOR COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS FACILITIES; $265,000 (ALL AT THE STATE LEVEL) FOR VARIOUS ADULT CORRECTIONAL PROGRAMS; AND ABOUT $3,500,000 FROM A VARIETY OF SOURCES FOR JUVENILE PROGRAMS. EVALUATION PROCEDURES FOR THE PROGRAMS ARE SPELLED OUT. OBJECTIVES AND GOALS FOR EACH PART OF THE PROGRAM ARE DETAILED.
