THE AUTHOR RECALLS THE DEHUMANIZING EXPERIENCE OF INSTITUTIONALIZATION FROM ENTRANCE TO PAROLE. HE CITES OVERCROWDING, MIXING OF ALL TYPES OF OFFENDERS, AND ADMINISTRATIVE HEARINGS AS AREAS WHERE REFORM IS NEEDED. HE ALSO CRITICIZES THE PRISON EDUCATION PROGRAM AND THE PAROLE BOARD.
