AN ETIOLOGICAL SURVEY OF DELINQUENT GIRLS BY WAY OF OFFENSE CLASSIFICATIONS.
Abstract
A CONDENSATION OF PERTINENT MATERIAL IN A SPECIFIC AREA OF DELINQUENCY WHICH HAS BEEN GROSSLY NEGLECTED IN THE PAST. DELINQUENT GIRLS COMPRISE A SEGMENT IN THE GENERAL AREA OF DELINQUENCY THAT DIFFERS MARKEDLY FROM DELINQUENT BOYS, BOTH AS TO THE NATURE OF THE OFFENSES AND THE ETIOLOGICAL FACTORS INVOLVED IN THE OFFENSES. THE AUTHORS PROVIDE A SUMMARY OF THE THEORETICAL CONCEPTS IN DELINQUENCY AND CRIME AS WELL AS IN THE AREA OF THE FEMALE OFFENDER. ACCOUNTS OF THE GIRLS' OWN STORIES REVEAL SIGNIFICANT INSIGHTS FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN ENGAGING IN A SCIENTIFIC ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF REHABILITATION PROGRAMS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
