An increase in the number of public demonstrations, as well as in the amount of violence associated with such demonstrations, has led the police of the Federal Republic of Germany to develop new techniques to handle such events.
Abstract
These include better cooperation with demonstration organizers, strategies for deescalation, and an increased ability to locate and remove a small number of people who may wish to use an otherwise peaceful demonstration for violent or criminal purposes. 2 tables, 1 note. (Publisher abstract)
