This 1999 annual report presented statistical information on seizures of controlled drugs in the United Kingdom between 1998 and 1999.
Abstract
The data covered in this United Kingdom 1999 annual report on seizures of controlled drugs included drug seizures per million population, yearly changes in the number of drug seizures reported in 1998-1999, seizures of controlled drugs by police and other organizations, rates of seizure of controlled drugs, seizure of controlled drugs and drug type, rates of seizure of controlled drugs and drug type, and quantities of drugs seized and drug type. The data also reflected information specific to the offender which included: persons found guilty, cautioned, given a fiscal fine, or dealt with by compounding for drug offenses and drug type; rates of persons found guilty, cautioned or given fiscal fine for drug offenses; persons cautioned or dealt with by compounding for drug offenses and by type of offense; cautioning/compounding rates for drug offenses; number of persons found guilty, cautioned, given a fiscal fine or dealt with by compounding for drug offenses and sentence or order given; both the number and percentage of persons found guilty, cautioned, given a fiscal fine or dealt with by compounding for drug offenses and sentence or order given; proportion of drug offenders cautioned; and the proportion of drug offenders sentenced to immediate custody. Data on drug types consisted of cocaine, crack, heroine, LSD, Ecstasy, Methadone, cannabis, amphetamines, anabolic steroids, and other drugs. 4 maps and 13 tables
