Abstract
The effect of cyanoacrylate was tested on decommissioned cell phones and computers. Cyanoacrylate treatment did not have any adverse effect on cell phones or the computers tested. Further treatment with BY40 dye followed by a water rinse did have negative impact on the laptops treated, no effect on the cell phones, and limited negative effect on the desktop computers. Treatment of laptops, desktop computers, and cell phones with CA will not change any components, including hard drives and optical disks. (Published Abstract)
