MEANINGFUL RESEARCH NECESSITATES GEARING THE ENTIRE POSTADJUDICATORY CORRECTIONAL PROCESS INTO AN ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING (EDP) SYSTEM.
Abstract
A COMMONALITY OF TERMS DEFINING SUCH ITEMS AS CUSTODY, WORK ASSIGNMENT, VOCATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL ASSIGNMENTS, AND MEDICAL AND SOCIAL REHABILITATION, MUST BE AGREED UPON BY ALL PERSONS USING THE CLASSIFICATION OF PRISONERS. THE EDP SYSTEM MUST INCLUDE IDENTIFICATION, PREINSTITUTION TREATMENT, THE ELEMENTS OF CLASSIFICATION AND THEIR EXECUTION WITHIN THE WALLS, PAROLE BOARD ACTION AND THE RESULTS OF SUCH PAROLE ACTION ON THE PART OF THE PRISONER. VARIOUS APPROACHES AND CONSIDERATIONS OF SUCH A COMPREHENSIVE EDP SYSTEM ARE DISCUSSED.
