Abstract
THE ARTICLE PRESENTS THE TYPES OF DEVICES USED IN EACH CATEGORY AND EXPLAINS THE USE, PLACEMENT, AND CAPABILITIES OF EACH DEVICE. WIRED SURVEILLANCE EQUIPMENT INCLUDES MICROPHONES (DIRECTIONAL AND PARABOLIC), TAPE RECORDERS AND TELEPHONE TAPS. RADIO TRANSMITTING DEVICES INCLUDE BODY BUGS, ROOM BUGS, AND TAILING TRANSMITTERS. THE MOST POPULAR FREQUENCY RANGES FOR SURVEILLANCE TRANSMITTERS ARE LISTED, AND A BRIEF EXAMINATION OF FUTURE DEVICES IS GIVEN.
