DESCRIPTION OF A METHOD OF TAKING FOOTPRINTS BASED ON THE THEORY THAT STATIC ELECTRICITY CAN BE USED TO ATTRACT DUST AND OTHER SUBSTANCES.
Abstract
A BLACK VINYL SHEET IS SPREAD OVER THE AREA UPON WHICH THE FOOTPRINT IS THOUGHT TO BE. ON TOP OF THIS SHEET, ALUMINUM TINFOIL WHICH SERVES AS AN ELECTRODE IS PLACED. WHEN HIGH VOLTAGE FROM THE STATIC ELECTRICITY IS APPLIED TO THE ELECTRODE, FOOTPRINTS APPEAR ON THE SURFACE OF THE VINYL SHEET. THE ARTICLE DISCUSSES THE APPARATUS, THE METHODOLOGY, THE EFFECTIVENESS AND THE APPLICATION OF THIS METHOD IN JAPAN IN DETAIL.
