ORGANIZATION AND ACTIVITIES OF THE SPECIAL UNITS OF THE PARIS, FRANCE POLICE FORCE WHICH PROVIDE QUICK-RESPONSE EMERGENCY MEDICAL, RESCUE, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES.
Abstract
GENERAL PURPOSE AND SPECIAL PURPOSE VANS ARE DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THE CITY. EMERGENCY SERVICES CAN BE OBTAINED BY CITIZENS USING EITHER THE 760 POLICE CALL BOXES IN PARIS, OR BY USING THE SPECIAL POLICE EMERGENCY TELEPHONE NUMBER. IN 1972, THE POLICE EMERGENCY VEHICLES ATTENDED 110,734 ROAD AND BUILDING SITE ACCIDENTS, BRAWLS, ASSAULTS, FIRES, DRUNKENESS, ILLNESSES IN THE STREET, AND OTHER MATTERS NEEDING POLICE INTERVENTION.
