THE STOCKHOLM SUBWAY POLICE SECTION HAS 134 POLICEMEN AND 18 OFFICERS, BUT 46 POLICEMEN ARE TO BE ADDED BECAUSE OF THE EXPANSION OF THE SUBWAY SYSTEM, AND THE SUBWAY POLICE ARE TO BECOME A SECTION OPERATING INDEPENDENTLY.
Abstract
IN 1971, THE STOCKHOLM SUBWAY POLICE PERFORMED 8,000 INTERVENTIONS, IN 1972 THERE WERE 12,000, AND IN 1974 THERE WERE 15,000. AS OF JANUARY 1976, THE SUBWAY SYSTEM WAS NINE MILES LONG AND HAD A TOTAL OF 87 STATIONS. SOME 700,000 PASSENGERS RIDE THE SUBWAY EVERY DAY. ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND A POLICEMAN GETS INJURED WHILE ON DUTY IN THE SUBWAY. --IN SWEDISH
