Abstract
INSTITUTED IN 1971 TO FREE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S REGULAR OFFICERS FROM PATROLLING THE BEACH, THE CSO PROGRAM NOW PROVIDES POLICE ASSISTANCE FOR CITIZENS AT OTHER RECREATIONAL SITES, HIGH SCHOOL FUNCTIONS, TRAIL BIKE AREAS, BICYCLE AREAS, AND A LOCAL LAKE.
