COMPARISON OF AGGRESSIVENESS SCORES OF MENTALLY RETARDED AND NON-RETARDED INMATES.
Abstract
RETARDED INMATES IMPRISONED FOR SERIOUS CRIMES SHOWED LESS AGGRESSIVENESS THAN EXPECTED. MANY ARE IMPRISONED BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT IDENTIFIED AS RETARDED AT THE TRIAL STAGE AND BECAUSE ALTERNATIVES TO INCARCERATION WERE LIMITED. RETARDED INMATES ARE GIVEN NO MEANINGFUL TREATMENT AND TRAINING IN PRISON.
