Feature articles address the importance of law enforcement agencies' understanding and countering "cyber terror," policing in public schools, and a review of U.S. Supreme Court cases from the 2010-2011 that are relevant to law enforcement; articles from the various Bulletin departments focus on "Crimes Against Children," "Police Practice," and "Leadership Spotlight."
"Cyber Terror" reviews the various definitions of this term and discusses the current and future challenges for law enforcement in this domain of crime. "Policing in Public Schools: Beyond the Active Shooter" identifies some of the distinctive and varied challenges faced by school police officers in responding to the needs of students, faculty, and staff; and implications are drawn for the training of school officers. "Supreme Court Cases: 2010-2011" summarizes 10 cases from this term with implications for law enforcement agencies. From the "Crimes Against Children Spotlight," an article describes the features and operation of the FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment (Card) Team, which provides FBI field offices with additional investigators with specialized training and experience in child abduction cases. From the Bulletin's department of "Police Practice," an article discusses how to incorporate "hot-spots" policing into a daily patrol plan. From the "Leadership Spotlight" department, an article discusses how to learn from failure.
