This bulletin features two articles focusing on workplace violence prevention and off-duty officers and firearms.
In this issue of FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin, two articles are featured. The first article discusses how vigorous prevention programs, timely intervention, and appropriate responses by organizations and their employees contributes significantly to a safe and secure work environment. The second feature article explores the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 (LEOSA), addresses Federal statutory limitations regarding firearms possession, and summarizes a short legal history of the Second Amendment concerning the right to bear arms. Officers that abide by LEOSA conditions can carry concealed weapons while off-duty. In addition to the feature articles, the bulletin presents departmental issues that include: the Child and Family Leadership Exchange, responding to a child predator's suicide, strategies for curbing organizational politics, leader adaptability in changing roles, and reentry housing options.
