Abstract
REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, THE INTERIOR DEPARTMENT, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA POLICE, AND THE MILITARY EXPLAINED THEIR ROLES IN THE EVENTS WHICH OCCURED ON MAY 9, 1970, THE DAY OF THE DEMONSTRATION. ANTIWAR LEADERS TESTIFIED ON THEIR NEGOTIATIONS WITH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND THE PROBLEMS WHICH AROSE. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS WRITTEN REPORTS WHICH WERE SUBMITTED TO THE SUBCOMMITTEE ON PREPARATIONS FOR THE DEMONSTRATION AND ON THE MANNER IN WHICH IT WAS ACTUALLY HANDLED.
