FILM WHICH ILLUSTRATES HOW FINGERPRINTS FOUND AT THE SCENE OF A CRIME CAN BE IDENTIFIED AND USED IN A CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
Abstract
LATENT PRINTS LIFTED BY AN EVIDENCE TECHNICIAN SERVE AS ALMOST THE ENTIRE CASE AGAINST A BURGLARY SUSPECT. THE FILM SHOWS THE PROPER METHOD OF QUALIFYING A FINGERPRINT EXPERT AND THE TYPE OF TECHNICAL INFORMATION THAT MUST BE BROUGHT OUT IN THE EXPERT'S TESTIMONY. TECHNICAL DETAILS DISCUSSED INCLUDE DEFINITIONS IN FINGERPRINT WORK, CLASSIFICATION OF PRINTS, POINTS OF SIMILARITY REQUIREMENT, AND EFFECT AT ACTUAL POINT OF DISSIMILARITY.
