A SCREENING AND TREATMENT PROGRAM FOR FIRST COURT-MARTIAL OFFENDERS WAS INITIATED AT FORT BRAGG IN 1959 AND STUDIED BY THE MENTAL HYGIENE CONSULTATION SERVICE.
Abstract
THE PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED TO EVALUATE OFFENDERS AFTER THEIR FIRST COURT MARTIAL AND GIVE PROMPT TREATMENT TO THOSE REQUIRING IT. NO IMPROVEMENT IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE OFFENDERS AFTER EVALUATION OR TREATMENT WAS SHOWN. DATA ON THE SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL BACKGROUNDS OF THOSE WHO PERFORMED POORLY IN THE POST-TRIAL TREATMENT IS PROVIDED.
