Procedure in English Courts is described, beginning with the involvement of magistrates at the arrest stage.
Abstract
Types of hearings, including summary trial and committal proceedings, and procedures in the Magistrates' Court are presented. Similarly, pleas, trial, court procedure, sentencing and appeals in the Crown Court are given. To complete the picture, the paper deals with criminal proceedings in Juvenile Courts, with Coroners' Courts, and with Appeal Courts. (Publisher abstract)
