THE DOCUMENT BEGINS BY PROVIDING AN OVERVIEW OF CRIME IN THE COUNTIES WHICH COMPRISE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA - BREVARD, FLAGLER, LAKE, ORANGE, OSCEOLA, SEMINOLE, AND VOLUSIA. THE MAJOR COMPONENTS OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM ARE EACH EXAMINED BY COUNTY, INCLUDING LAW ENFORCEMENT, COURTS, PROSECUTORS, PUBLIC DEFENSE SERVICES, DETENTION AND CORRECTIONS, AND COMMUNITY BASED REHABILITATION SERVICES. PROJECTIONS ARE MADE FOR FUTURE CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCY WORKLOADS AND RECOMMENDATIONS BASED UPON THIS ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN COMPONENTS OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA ARE PRESENTED.
