Abstract
The comprehensive bibliography of open sources is on domestic terrorism, international terrorism, and United States government and foreign counterterrorism programs that are operational or in the planning stages. Books, serials, and government publications were selected that would interest area specialists and military personnel whose current and future job requirements might be to write a description of a particular terrorist group active in one geographic region. Most of the entries are English-language sources published since 1995. All of the sources are relevant to the listed subjects: the organization and tactics of terrorist groups; state sponsorship of terrorism; antiterrorism; counterterrorism; and the motives and apparent plans of adversarial states and groups to use weapons of mass destruction. Also listed are domestic legislation and international agreements; and the opinions of journalists and scholars on the adequacy of United States government and foreign capabilities to prevent terrorism. The bibliography is organized into six geographic areas --Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, and North America -- as well as a general International section. All entries have keywords.
