This report describes the activities and accomplishments of the Greenville, S.C., Department of Police during 1992.
Abstract
During the year several existing programs achieved major successes. The program of mandatory arrests for perpetrators of domestic assault produced a significant decline in the number of arrests for this program. The Crimestopper Program continued to bring information crucial to solving cases and finding suspects. One horse patrol officer was placed back into the parks and peace center area as a result of increased use by the public. The Burglary Task Force, which consists of police officers from all parts of the department, has focused its available resources on these offenses; as a result, the number of burglaries has declined. Further sections list the police officers who died on duty and describe the responsibilities and accomplishments related to patrol services, traffic enforcement, investigative services, vice/narcotics enforcement, community services, support services, professional standards and services, administrative services, civil service, and special units. Photographs, figures, table on employment and expenditures, and list of awards
