In peer opinion estimates by correctional officers, the officers underestimated the professional orientation and overestimated the cynicism of fellow officers.
Abstract
Disaggregation of these data locates a subgroup of believers in a 'CO subculture.' These officers tend to be a highly alienated unrepresentative minority. The largest officer subtype is that of professionally oriented accurate estimators of nonsubcultural peer opinion. (Author abstract)
