Abstract
THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING ACT IS TO TRAIN THE UNSKILLED AND UNEMPLOYED SO THAT THEY MAY OBTAIN MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT. THIS BOOKLET CONTAINS SUGGESTIONS WHICH COUNSELORS MAY FIND HELPFUL IN DEALING WITH THE SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT PROBLEMS OF EX-OFFENDERS. IT GIVES PRACTICAL HELP IN FINDING AND DEVELOPING JOBS, INFLUENCING THE COMMUNITY TO ACCEPT EX-OFFENDERS, ASSESSING TRAINING COURSES IN RELATION TO THE AVAILABLE JOB MARKET, AND PLACING TRAINEES IN JOBS WHICH THEY WILL BE LIKELY TO KEEP.
