Intended to assist judges, attorneys, and parents in making decisions about children during separation, divorce, or other situations, this manual discusses factors that are important to consider in the decisionmaking process and in structuring and constructing an agreement or court order that will meet the critical developmental needs of children.
Abstract
Individual sections discuss children's developmental needs from infancy through adolescence, focusing on self- concept, intellectual functioning, safety and security, and interpersonal relationships. Further sections discuss the possible impact of divorce on children and parents and factors to consider in assessing each parent's behavior in helping the child to adapt to the family situation.
