Abstract
This book is intended for students, researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, journalists and others involved in understanding and preventing criminal behavior. The book examines the nature, extent, patterns, and causes of over 40 different crimes ranging from conventional offenses such as shoplifting and vehicle crime to other forms of criminal offenses which are often a combination of different legal offenses. The book is divided into eight parts with varying numbers of chapters under each heading. These main divisions are: Part I: 'Conventional' Property Crimes - 4 chapters; Part II: Fraud and Fakes - 7 chapters; Part III: Violent Crime - 14 chapters; Part IV: Sex-Related Crime - 3 chapters; Part V: Drug-Related Crime - 3 chapters; Part VI: Organized and Business Crime - 5 chapters; Part VII: State, Political and War Crimes - 6 chapters; and Part VIII: Harms, Health and Safety - 3 chapters.
