This guidebook explains the selection and role of jurors in East Baton Rouge Parish, La., and describes the steps in a trial and the basic terminology used in court proceedings.
Abstract
The categories of persons who may claim an exemption from jury service in the State are listed, and the qualifications that must be met to serve on a jury are given. The facilities of the jury lounge and conduct during courtroom proceedings are explained. Twenty-eight basic terms and the roles of eight categories of personnel involved in court proceedings are also defined.
