This book contains 22 chapters that address all aspects of preparation for using a handgun efficiently and effectively in a variety of circumstances.
Abstract
The first chapter discusses the development of the "combative mind," which refers to a mindset and a lifestyle of learning and training in survival skills that prepares a person to win every life-threatening confrontation with another person. The second chapter discusses the nature and application of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which involves training in psychological and physical management techniques that prepares a person to act with maximum speed, accuracy, and effectiveness appropriate to a given threat. The third chapter is an overview of legal procedures to follow after using deadly force to kill an attacker. The next two chapters provide further details on the personal fitness and skills required to prepare for survival combat. The remaining chapters focus on how and when to use a handgun for personal protection. The first of these chapters discusses the selection of a handgun appropriate for personal defense, followed by a chapter on how to tailor a handgun for the owner's personal use. A chapter then considers how to maximize the "stopping power" of a handgun. The next chapter considers safety measures that ensure a handgun will only be fired when and how the owner/user intends (safety measures). Other chapters address the technique of continuous motion for the rapid and accurate firing of a handgun, how to grip a handgun, firing positions, balance and agility when firing, movement when under attack, tactical measures, handling multiple threats, using a handgun at night, close-quarter shooting, threats while in a vehicle, and maintaining proficiency with one's handgun. Numerous illustrative photographs and appended listing of firearm training schools and gun manufacturers, and a subject index
