          Annotation
The author first reviews the law and practice that has developed in response to the conditional release of the person acquitted of a crime by reason of insanity.
          Abstract
He then sets forth the health care compliance principles relevant to the conditional release process. Finally, he attempts to integrate legal and psychological aspects of the problem. The author concludes that we can protect the insanity acquittee and the community and maximize constitutional safeguards by restructuring the process to enhance adherence to prescribed treatment. 147 footnotes (Author abstract)
