THIS FILM SHOWS HOW PREPARATION, PROCEDURE, OBSERVATION AND INFORMATION CAN HELP A BANK TELLER MINIMIZE LOSSES AND RISK WHILE MAXIMIZING THE POTENTIAL FOR CATCHING THE BANK ROBBER IN A HOLDUP.
Abstract
THIS PROGRAM FIRST OUTLINES THE TELLER'S DAILY PRECAUTIONS AGAINST HOLDUP--INCLUDING PREPARATION OF WORK AREA, CASH LIMITS, DECOY MONEY, THE SILENT ALARM, AND BEING ALERT FOR LOITERERS OR OTHER SUSPICIOUS CHARACTERS. NEXT, IT DEMONSTRATES THE CORRECT PROCEDURES TO FOLLOW DURING THE HOLDUP--INCLUDING FOLLOWING ORDERS, DELIBERATE ACTION, KEEPING THE HOLDUP NOTE, INCLUDING DECOY MONEY, DOING NO MORE THAN ASKED, OBSERVING THE ROBBER, AND NOTING THE DIRECTION AND METHOD OF ESCAPE. FINALLY, THE PROGRAM COVERS WHAT TO DO AFTER THE HOLDUP--INCLUDING VOCAL ALARM, SECURING THE WORK AREA, NOT GOSSIPING, TURNING OVER PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, FILLING IN A BANDIT DESCRIPTION FORM, AND COOPERATING WITH AUTHORITIES. DURING THE PROGRAM, THE VIEWER IS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEST HIS OWN POWERS OF OBSERVATION BY OBSERVING A DRAMATIZED HOLDUP AND FILLING IN A BANDIT DESCRIPTION FORM. HE THEN CAN PICK THE BANDITS OUT OF A POLICE LINEUP. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
