This report marks the 50th year of operations of the Honolulu Police Department; it contains current crime data for the island of Oahu as well as some retrospective material relating to the department's historical development.
Abstract
The department has a motorcycle detail focusing on drunk drivers, a helicopter unit and canine corps, and regular media campaigns. Tables show crime incidents, crime rates, and crime Index offenses. Police activities are reported in terms of law enforcement, community affairs, technology and equipment, intergovernmental and interdepartmental aspects, and staff and support activities. Photographs, charts, and tables are provided.
