DESCRIPTION OF BUREAU OF CUSTOM'S INFORMATION SYSTEM CUSTOMS AUTOMATIC DATA PROCESSING INTELLIGENCE NETWORK (CADPIN).
Abstract
ACCESS TO CADPIN AT TERMINALS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY ALLOWS CUSTOMS AGENTS TO INSTANTANEOUSLY CHECK RECORDS OF KNOWN SMUGGLERS AND VEHICLES AS THEY PASS CHECKPOINTS. THE ARTICLE SKETCHES THREE SUBSYSTEMS OPERATING THROUGH CADPIN. THESE PROVIDE INFORMATION ON RECORDS OF KNOWN DRUG TRAFFICKERS, STATISTICS ON CUSTOMS ARRESTS AND SEIZURES, AND TELEPHONE NUMBERS ENCOUNTERED IN INVESTIGATIONS.
